Therapy Approach
I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as supportive psychotherapy care throughout treatment. I believe it is important to look at each individual as a whole and incorporate specific supports, resources, and strengths into treatment. Clients will learn distinct skills to relieve symptoms. My approach is always warm, personable, easygoing, and lighthearted, sprinkled with some humor. My initial goal is to help clients feel comfortable, validated, and create a strong therapeutic relationship.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps people change negative thinking patterns and behaviors that can contribute to emotional difficulties. The main idea behind CBT is that how we think, how we feel, and how we behave are all connected, and by changing negative thoughts, we can improve how we feel and how we behave. CBT can be useful for a wide variety of mental health diagnoses. It can also be very useful for people facing general life challenges or just wanting to improve mental well-being. It's a structured and goal-oriented approach, with a focus on giving individuals tools to help improve their mental health.​
What is Supportive Psychotherapy?
Supportive psychotherapy is a type of talk therapy where the therapist helps a person cope with difficult emotions, stress, or life challenges. In this approach, the therapist offers understanding, encouragement, and practical advice to help the person feel better and handle their problems more effectively. The focus is not on deeply exploring past issues, but on providing comfort, strengthening coping skills, building confidence and increasing self esteem. It is a safe and nonjudgmental space, to help you feel more supported and empowered to face life's challenges.



What happens Next?
Please call or email me to set up a free fifteen minute consult. I believe that all clients should have the opportunity to meet their therapist before scheduling. If you decide to move forward after the call I will check your insurance benefits. I am in network with most major insurance companies and will communicate your out of pocket expense, and obtain authorization before starting services. I do also accept private pay which can be discussed if you are without insurance coverage. From there the only thing to do is schedule directly with me! I will always be your point of contact. Unlike large practices, you will not have to deal with front desk administrators, accounting, or middle men!
